Big picture agencies crack down on online image copyright

The Guardian newspaper reports today that big picture agencies are making moves to enforce their copyright on images used on websites. The paper reports on the case of a small business owner who contracted a web developer to build his company website. One of those photographs used on the website was copyright to the picture agency Corbis who found out about the use of the image and demanded £1,300 in licensing payments for a year. The web developer had since gone bust.
